Alex Pretti, the ICU nurse who was shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent this weekend, suffered a broken rib during a previous encounter with federal officers, according to a report.

A week before his death, Pretti, 37, had a rib broken when a group of federal officers tackled him as he was protesting their detention of other people, sources told CNN.

The comment is removed now but he was saying that after breaking a rib, the last thing he would be able to do is “puppy pile” (which is maybe furry for dog pile?) a lady to protect her because it would hurt his ribs too much. He felt like this made the story fishy.

“Puppy pile” is a tactic in nonviolent direct action that which involves protesters linking arms, sitting, or lying together in a tight, interlocked group to create a, dense physical barrier, this technique is used to obstruct, delay, or protect a space, or person

Definitely not trolling, but I thought people here knew what that was. I guess there are more furry suspicious people here than people who engage in trained civil disobedience.

Also, typed from phone probably failed to check auto correction

Thanks for the info. This may be the first time on lemmy that defaulting to “assume unfamiliar terms involving animals relate to fur or adjacent communities” has led me to the classic problem with assuming.

Ah. Now I get it. I get the downvotes, because he phrased it like jibberish. I don’t get why mods removed it.
