That’s probably keeping many likeminded people from voting for them. A result of the deeply unfair FPTP voting system. In my country we long ago had a similar system, it resulted in a single party state, until it was reformed to a proportional system.

That would definitely increase both voting and representation for the Greens, yes.

Tactical voting is a big thing in the UK to mitigate some of the imbalance of the FPTP system, along with informal electoral pacts between parties.

Our proportional system isn’t bad, but I think Australias ranked choice voting is the best. In my country it’s still possible to waste a vote because the party didn’t get a single seat. In Australia this never happens. They also make it mandatory to vote, which I want for my country too.

Australia probably has the best system in place for any country, but if you want an even better version of what they have, might I suggest STAR voting or Ranked Robin voting? Alternatively there is also Score voting which is similar, but based on scoring each individual candidate.

All of these three avoid some of the pitfalls that are still in Ranked Choice voting, although all of these are much better than First Past the Post.

I paid all the more attention last vote (Australia).

I’m not thrilled with Labour right now, but it kept Dutton and the regressives out, and kept Palmer’s wannabe Trumpism in the dirt.

Our Greens lost a senate seat, which most put down to Gaza support offending the idiotic Jewish segment that think its antisemetic. Then again, I had to wait in line behind asshats going off on transphobic rambles, so the idiocy is everywhere to be fair.

Can’t wait for a new government ad from the juice media. So funny! I learned more about 'Straya from their political satire than anywhere else
