Paid too much. And there are already alternatives shaping up. Check out piefed. Dot world has one. The user experience it’s already better than Lemmy.

Is it using the same underlying stuff, like can I use my account on lemmy.world or is it completely different?

It’s a separate server with separate logins. So no at the moment there is no reporting account directly over. But you can import the data so you are subscribed to all the same communities Etc.

There’s a few, I use Voyager myself on iOS. The only real difference from Lemmy so far that I see on a user side is that you cannot upload images directly into a comment, but that functionality is in the works.

If you want to give it a try, you’re welcome to join my PieFed instance https://quokk.au. If you have any issues, let me know what app and if it’s ios/android and I’ll see if I can make you a guide.

Several apps have support now. Voyager, boost, and infinity. Though they don’t always support all the new features yet. But give a like experience to using Lemmy.

I was waiting for Boost to support it and it does now (though you need to install the beta). Other apps are listed here.
