“There he goes. One of God’s own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

I liked Zorin (often recommended for users coming from Windows) which is based off Ubuntu which in turn is based off Debian. Not a fan of Snaps, though. I also value stability over blistering performance and bleeding edge features.

Noob here. My last distro was Zorin (which I liked well enough). Keen to switch to Debian base. Should I jump in and install vanilla Debian or wait for Mint Debian 7? Or should I believe the DistroWatch hype and go for MX?
Would prefer Xfce environment because I’ll be running it on 8+ yo laptop and and desktop.

Maybe (I won’t be weighing in any further), but can we at the very least agree that Mexico isn’t doing enough?
tnx for the reply, I suspected as much.
Interesting thread.Would be interested to learn from commenters which storage media is most impervious to digital rot.

Spoken like a cartel spokesperson. They paying you in coke? :P

Yeah, I value the eradication of murderous scum over sovereignty. Guilty as charged.

It would ideally be a combined operation, obviously. Mexico either can’t or refuses to clean house. If the cartels are spilling over the border then the US has every right to excise them at the source bin Laden style.

The cartels are an evil scourge without a trace of humanity. Nothing of value will be lost if they’re swept off the board. I hope their buttholes are puckering at the thought of Delta and SEAL teams kicking down their doors.

After checking out the specs, I think I might go for a Bip next, tnx. Always worth having a backup watch too for when your main is getting charged.

Looks good, tnx

I really like my Amazfit Neo. Okay, it doesn’t charge with USB-C but I appreciate its “always on” display and retro aesthetic. Can’t believe they don’t make 'em anymore!
Is there a worthy successor or can anybody recommend a similar minimalist smartwatch that won’t break the bank?

Bad actors are sowing distrust by implying that Signal is not secure. Always remember that the powers that be don’t want the public to have encrypted comms and would love to ban private messaging apps altogether. I could also be completely wrong and Signal is in fact a fed honeypot…
The code is open-source though, and I’m hoping that individuals more learned than I would surely alert us if there were any backdoors/exploits…
Tanks and fighter jets are becoming less relevant. The war in Ukraine underlines how drones are changing everything. They’re cheaper to manufacture (or buy/retrofit) and just about everybody can make or reverse-engineer them.
The barrier to entry is so low in fact that I worry about the day when terrorist groups begin to deploy them in major cities.

Have you tried Pearltrees?
Tuxedo looks interesting, tnx
