I’d at least expect the moon to be just a 2D image that’s rigged to always face you, no matter what angle you look at it from. Like the trees in Super Mario 64
Only thing that could improve this picture is if they were driving an eBussy Camper Van (they did end up changing their name to XBus at some point)

If you have a need for Calendar or To-dos, Radicale is a nice CalDAV/CardDAV server that’s pretty tiny. For me its sitting there at idle using 35MB of RAM.

In addition to what others have said, Syncthing will use public relay servers if it can’t make a direct connection between your devices. Everything is encrypted, so it’s not unsafe or anything as far as i know, but if you want to run your own private Syncthing relay server, you can. (Or run your own public one)
I’m not sure how well Laser printers work with Sticker Paper, so you may have to look more into that. Brother makes great laser printers, so they have a lot of options there.
I own a Epson Ecotank printer and, while I haven’t actually gotten around to trying out sticker paper on it. I do like it. I have the ET-8550, which is the big one, but there are smaller, cheaper ones that need just Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black ink, as well as black only. If you’re using it often, it should be pretty reliable. The worst thing you can do with an inkjet printer is not use it, because the ink will dry up on the nozzles (and in the lines, in the case of an ink tank printer). I try to run a test print that uses all the inks at least once ever 2 weeks.
Only other thing to look out for, is that for some of the Ecotanks, the Black will be a pigment based ink, and the color will be a dye based ink, so make sure the sticker paper you choose matches the inks in the printer you choose.
we can’t function as a society when shit like this is going on!

I didn’t realize Mychal Threets was hosting Reading Rainbow now. He seems perfect for it. Back when I used Instagram, I’d always see his videos and he seems like a good dude.
when Gandalf said “Fly! You Fools!” This is what he meant
when the Minecraft wiki moved off of fandom, their new site was so much faster

They did announce recently that they’re gonna stop making and selling the Model S and Model X and put more emphasis on humanoid robots and AI instead of cars. Everything over there in Muskland seems so terribly chaotic.
he belongs in a swamp, not a landfill
You can run LibreTranslate locally in a Docker/Podman container. iirc it does need a few GB of space to download the model.
I only played with it for a little bit maybe like a year ago and wasn’t super impressed by its Japanese to English translations, but that could have been me just not setting it up right, or maybe its improved since then. I didn’t try any other languages

That’s a wonderful use for one lmao

A cheap Jeweler’s loupe from Amazon. It’s like a high magnification magnifying glass with a LED light built into it. I initially bought it to inspect my kitchen knives when I sharpen them, but it’s been useful for inspecting soldering work and other random little things.
Others have mentioned a powerbank and one of those multiport USB chargers. I’d second those as well, tho I guess they both can climb in price depending on if you need a lot of power capacity.

Yesterday, following Vimeo’s recent acquisition by a private equity firm…
Well, I guess thats the end of Vimeo
the real reason they put stalls around the toilets is to protect other bathroom occupants from porcelain shrapnel
For an SMS replacement, I’ve been using Fossify Messages for a while now and don’t have any complaints with it. It’s open source and doesn’t care about your personal info. I don’t really use SMS much, so idk if it has all the features you used in the Samsung messenger, but it might be worth trying out.
EDIT: If you need RCS, I don’t think there are any open source choices for it, due to how its deployed afaik. You’re pretty much stuck with Samsung or Google or some other OEM’s SMS app.
