I’ve never heard of anyone getting arrested for removing DRM. DRM removal tools are actively sold online with no crackdown. However people keep getting busted here and there for piracy, and piracy sites keep getting shut down.

I think at the end of the day if the copyright holders are getting paid they don’t really care, and the police cares about piracy way less than they do.

I think they’d be better off just airing reruns of Suits on NBC, or at least using it as a lead-in for Suits LA

A Different World is known by many as “black Friends” or “Friends before Friends”, so maybe Netflix wanted a whiff of the hype that Warner Bros. got when they upscaled Friends to 4K

We should have contracts that mandate minimum number of seasons for all of this.

Yeah if I ever ran a streaming service that made original content I’d put in a stipulation that if a cancellation order is made, the producers still get to make a proper end to the series in the form of a final season or a special or movie. How Netflix especially treats their original projects feels like if Barnes & Noble sold books in halves and flipped a coin in a back room to determine whether or not to sell the second half in 18 months.

They’re doing the remaster? I had no idea.

This is big! Reading between the lines, it seems that at the very least:

1. Marvel/Disney is actively planning ways to use the Defenders characters in the MCU in the future

2. The primary barrier to using Defenders characters will be budget constraints and actor availability

It would be interesting to see if The Defenders comes back, any of the existing shows get spiritual successors, or if movies with these characters come out in the future. It’d be pretty cool if we end up seeing, for example, the Defenders version of Danny Rand team up with Shang Chi in the sequel that most definitely is going to happen (per pinkie promises)

I’ve found her career fascinating, she’s the only one I’ve seen leave Fox and then go farther to the right. She was center right on the network and now she’s firmly planted on the right. Meanwhile Bill O’Reilly stayed mostly the same and Tucker Carlson is now the same as he was before, just less mask of and outspoken about his genuine positions

Honestly, for the next college football season, this and ESPN Flagship will probably be all I will need more or less. If I ever want Fox News (which I like less and less over time but might still be useful for presidential debates and such), this means I’ll be able to essentially get it a-la-carte. Very nice.

Literally the only reason I log in at all is because I have the Master Chief Collection purchased through the Microsoft Store and Windows always picks up my Windows license once I login

To bypass the forced Microsoft account you can create a unattend file and pre configure the ISO to make a local account.

I should have done this when I set up my computer, I had to manually change it after I set up Windows 11. I don’t have anything against logging into my Microsoft account but having the actual account on the computer be a Microsoft account instead of a local account feels wrong. What if my account gets hacked, I’d just lose access to my computer!
