To be fair unsure your exact intent I just wanted to mention from what I’ve read the hit articles always come soon after the election. At face value I take the first part, for the second part, anyone that can become mayor of New York would be ready for that.
I’m in my middle aged years, whatever I’ve read of him seems hopeful if he’s the future. Also not from the US but if they can vote in someone like that for, what is considered one the the top cities in the world’s, mayor that is encouraging. If elected I hope he proves what is better for people.
Seriously we always have someone okay vs someone that wants to take away benefits from the less well off of our neighbors and friends (I will say I’m luckier but not exactly out of that group). It’s refreshing to see someone to least state he wants to make a better balance.
Heaven forbid billionaires make a few less dollars that they only use to influence things to their preferences. No one is perfect but his ideals have merit it seems.
Yeah can’t imagine a bunch of girls having a great time there, especially once he ends up dying for his ideals (if not now then later). Leaving a mother and daughters. Pretty sure this is the guy who didn’t even know the language while getting training before he was pushed up to the front. Can’t imagine thinking any probable outcome is better for anyone involved, but the kids definitely don’t deserve whatever happens.
Not helpful for the question but it made me remember one book I read on Buhhism that was written by a punk artist that used to be around Ohio? Crap can’t recall the place think Akron was a city spot. Seemed like a fairly small artist from whati recall of the stories.
It’s fun to see where punk comes up is all, was never my particular taste for sound (or scene really) but I think their messge is awesome. Think all systems need their message reflected in controversial art, may not agree with their sound but so far a lot of messages have sounded better than the status quo. And sometimes seeing what the system brings shows what may be needed for change.
It’d be nice one day if punk couldn’t have the same message cause we did better for ourselves as society.

It really does, growing up in the 80s/90s I couldn’t even imagine someone as terrible as him in political office in a functioning democracy. Of course it’s evident that the US is no longer a functioning democracy, hopefully they will be again sooner than later
Yes I also realize they (the US) always had their faults but it wasn’t going full Nazi at least. Think how much Superman would be shamed by knowing he’s from that country. I know it’s fictional but as a character he always does the best he can to help everyone. Today’s US is not where he crash landed, which is a shame because it seemed like the people (if not the government) had better ideals.

Last article I read has a comment of ‘judicial insurrection’ from him cause they were told they could not deploy troops to Oregon.
He thinks he’s above the law, I do hope he’s proven wrong but I’m not holding my breath with the state of things.

The Dark Tower by Stephen King for those that aren’t familiar with it. It’s a lot more ‘weird’ than say what you’d expect from his horror novels. I think it’s probably closer to the old strange stories from magazines way back in the day. I think that’s a major reason I like it. Oh not to spoil much (it’s like 7 books this comes out in the 2nd or so so by page count the intro) Evidently I f’ed up the tags so didn’t work as a spoiler I’ll add spaces just in case.

Now comic books are kinda out of date, they used to assume you couldn’t be that evil and say you are while no one stops you from your plan while you talk about it non stop.
Even without much education, I was a geek in a rural location, one time a friend’s dad put a cigarette (half 3/4 done or so) on a fence cause we were having a competition and we hit them all. Mean the cigarette was only say 15 - 20 feet away but I I split it in half with a BB gun (yes no kick of course), probably luck but I was hitting the targets too and the dad figured no one would hit that one. It wasn’t a long range but I figure someone with access to a rifle should shoot fine enough if they practice even a bit if I can without access. I only shot a gun maybe a dozen times in total.
Didn’t he help organize buses to Jan 6? Least I’m pretty sure I read that back then. Not that murder has any excuse of course so I’d never condone it in the least. I do mean that but wondering if his rhetoric had any influence on the action or was a personal issue.

It was a favourite growing up (up there’s with Explorers, The Goonies to me back then), I hadn’t watched it in decades till a few years ago. I also thought it held up really well. Besides the exterior spaceship there’s minimal effects anyways (plus cute aliens of course which were practical) it’s more an odd buddy (new friend?) comedy. I still thought what was there was for the ship effects held up better than expected for the time.
Course may be rose tinted glasses and all, but I really enjoyed it last time still, plus time travel is always awesome.
