I’m moderately happy that the UK is not in the EU because the Tories would put so many MPs to the ECR Group

I still feel like the UK is going to end up slowly going to the EEA + Schengen over time in Starmer’s lifetime
I feel like he could have been let off with a fine and confiscation where if he would do it again or act provocatively the prison sentence would apply. 4 months in prison is a lot
I think in that case they would say they accept paper.
Smoking weed to resolve differences
Sell Ukraine for Russian golf resorts
Personally I like Jack Johnson - Upside down for the “Fuck you” as in “Fuck you world, I’m not going to let you ruin my day. I’m going for a walk and to enjoy life.”
Faroese and Icelandic are mutually intelligible so you can cross one off. :)
It might take a bit to wade through the BIOS settings to get it up but I’d recommend a process of elimination based on “Doesn’t sound relevant to the boot sequence” to figure it out. I have a recent HP laptop and I installed KDE Neon on it.
Searching for “How to install Linux on [your BIOS and version]” might also help.
Speak Finnish and then slowly devolve into Estonian
Seconded FreeCAD. It was my first CAD software and I didn’t have massive amount of trouble with it being a hobbyist with no CAD experience.
Have you heard about our lord and savior Linus Torvalds?
Jokes aside, it’s horrible. The enshittification is real
As a fullstack angular dotnet developer I don’t feel like I’m falling behind.
I read the updates on the state of JS and watch YouTube videos on the new C# and dotnet features and I’m pretty happy with how I’m keeping up with the latest in my field.
That being said “falling behind” is subjective and most people aren’t early adopters. People often wait until they hear recommendations from 3 colleagues before taking up something that is by then old news.
Nice horns you got there, I can make a throwable one that I can replace in seconds.
People have jinxed it 20 years in a row
It sounds like she was concerned about the Uber driver and didn’t feel like you didn’t make her feel safe. I think it’s an overreaction on her part but it’s still real feelings.
You can’t win those arguments, you just have to stay calm and say that you’re sorry for not coming down as she was arriving. Then maybe ask if the driver made her feel uncomfortable or whatever.
She doesn’t want answers, just empathy and a feeling that you care about her safety.
THE YEAR OF THE LINUX DESKTOP
No, we have to post these when it’s the year of the Linux desktop
I think GNOME looks very visually appealing with it’s consistency. The Libadwaita library has a nice aesthetic and looks very clean with nice spacing for elements to “breathe”.
I still prefer KDE since I can tailor the look to my needs and I prefer to have clutter over extra clicks. (I have top bar with “Opened programs”, Launcher, System tray, Time and a global menu and KWin script for managing Activities)
I feel like modern era of design has gone a bit overboard with the “clean” direction. It can be contrasted with Windows XP where you click “All programs” and you literally get all programs in the start menu with options of how to run or open them. I prefer to do “Menu” - > “Submenu” - > “Thing I want”.
Come to think of it I should probably make a launcher for KDE.
