  • I feel you homie. But honestly 50-100 years is plenty, that’s a long time to be alive. Based on what you said, you understand that this shit gets exhausting after a while. But then again, sometimes memories can be more enjoyable than the actual experiences. It’s very common that we experience things in life and don’t fully appreciate them until we look back in hindsight.

Mainly if you are physically healthy and able to live comfortably in society, you should enjoy it as much as you can, because most other people don’t have it as good and they still find a way to make the most of it.

To answer your question, never. I just wanted to do my own thing and read or play video games, it seemed better to avoid my parents’ attention rather than seek it out.

  • Instances is fine but I always thought calling them servers was the most pragmatic choice. Many people already understand the general concept of servers so it seems to be less confusing/overwhelming to newcomers. Lemmies is fun though, and it’s really just an abbreviation for “Lemmy instance”, so I feel like it’s not even wrong.

  • Censorship is always going to exist to some extent, but Lemmy has the potential to balance it out because there is no central authority. So you could have censorship of different stuff on different servers, but if you take the network as a whole you would still get a diversity of information.

I remember everybody celebrating Luigi the whole time, I guess some mods and admins were wary of threats of violence being hosted on their servers but overall it’s impossible to criticize Luigi on this platform without getting heavily downvoted, and celebrating him is free upvotes.

So I feel like you’re being pretty overdramatic and also not really accurate with this comment.
