It’s sooo terrible. I updated my phone not realizing it was going to be such a big change & it kind of ruined my day.
I’d love to go with a different OS, but nothing has stylus support for writing and note taking :/

It’s so good! The plot is fast paced without being overwhelming. Its able to be meaningful, fun, and suspensful. Some of the animation sequences are gorgeous too.
I’m glad to hear other people enjoyed it as well :)
For me it’s because his whole shtick the last month has been about ‘eliminating government waste’ then there’s half a billion being set aside for his companies shitty cars? I think it’s the hypocrisy that really makes this particular thing frustrating.
I’ve lived in and worked at a number of co-ops. I think they’re far better for the employee than traditional businesses when implemented in a democratic way. Having control over the workplace and direction of the business is incredibly valuable. It’s also important that the co-op members talk to and know eachother. Having lots of meetings and community building is very typical in this type of business.
Also the type of co-op I’m talking about also returns excess profits to the workers (often with a portion taken out to be put back into the business/saved for a rainy day). In this way they are way better than unions, which no matter how powerful do not fully redistribute profits.
I also think worker co-ops are functionally better than worker communes. Co-ops give much more economic freedom to the workers, and side step many of the pitfalls of live/work communes.
Feel free to ask me more about my experiences if you’re curious :)

Super fair point, I’m projecting human emotions onto the beavers & don’t actually know how they feel about the sound of running water lol
From what i remember, it has to do with the noise of flowing water. Bevers find the sound annoying and will cover it until it stops.
I remember a study where they played river noises from a speaker and the bevers covered the speakers with sticks – even in the absence of any water.
Yeah the whole process of trying to deal with facebooks customer service has been annoying to say the least lol.
Glad other people also seem to think having it locked is a good enough solution
Lol probably more effort and money than the zero amount I’m looking to put into it
It’s locked so I would have to verify it in order to do any kind of resetting passwords and stuff. Which requires uploading photo id and a video of my face. I don’t really want to do all that, so I’m hoping that it being locked is enough to keep it from being used by hackers.
I honestly just stopped using it so long ago & hadn’t even thought about the account until my sister told me it got hacked. I don’t care about having access to it, I just want it to be effectively useless lol
I tried but they would want me to verify it first & thats a whole process that requires sending them a photo of my lisence and a video of me. I don’t really want to do all that lol
Thus me hoping that it being locked is good enough
Libredirect is great, just added it to firefox! I can finally watch all those tiktok links people send me lol
& for anyone else thinking of trying it, if a site won’t load change your default proxy instance :)
Whoa it’s wild that it was commissioned by a company as a way to improve staff morale after a series of mergers and acquisitions. Imagine being worried about your job in an era when job hopping was not common, & you get a smiley face pin from management.
Honestly 100% unemployed becuase we have a good universal income system or something would be great. But sadly it looks like we’re in a different timeline :(
Mesh networks have been made using ham radios! It’s not ready for the general public since you need a ham operators lisence & their range is limited by line of sight. But if you own a large property, you can network your own space using the tech. It’s also a good back up in the case of a large scale infrastructure disruption.
Heres a link :)
Lmao I guess there are just limits to my photoshop abilities 🤣
Chiming in to say that on my asus laptop, the start up button is f12! Press as soon as the first logo appears on the screen. It might take a few times to get the timing right, if you miss it just restart the computer.
It should take you to a menu that looks like a classic hacker screen (blue screen with pixilated text, no clickable UI). Then go to the boot options and select the USB.
The potential for self hosted AI is there! I’ve seen a few projects in the works, and if youre tech saavy you can spin up your own. It is pretty resource intensive, but could be run on a home server.
I’m pretty excited to have my own personal AI, vut i want one that is trained on data I select and who only phones home to my server lol.
Super interesting to read your more technical perspective. I also think facial recognition (and honestly most AI use cases) are best when used to supplement an existing system. Such as flagging a potential shoplifter to human security.
Sadly most people don’t really understand the tech they use for work. If the computer tells them something they just kind of blindly believe it. Especially in a work environment where they have been trained to do what the machine says.
My guess is that the people were trained on how to use the system at a very basic level. Troubleshooting and understanding the potential for error typically isn’t covered in 30min corporate instructional meetings. They just get a little notice saying a shoplifter is in the store and act on that without thinking.
