You probably could get fined for it over here, but that’s going to vary by each county within each state. I don’t live in California, but they’re known for much stricter emissions regulations for instance. Where I live, they don’t even test or regulate emissions.
I don’t know what they look like over there, but in the US, Dodge Rams are often oversized trucks. The mirrors stick out like they’re trying to high five every vehicle (though useful if you’re towing.) They’re often lifted, dually (double back tires) with oversized exhaust. Drivers sometimes like to “roll coal” which means to spew thick black diesel exhaust everywhere. It’s as obnoxious as it sounds. Is that what you’re seeing there?
I think the idea is to get the floss just tight enough to not slip over the body.

Had a friend tell me about using dental floss to wrap around as close to the skin as possible, tighten, and pull the tick off. Haven’t tried it, but seems like it might work

These work well even on tiny ticks. I got some when I was having trouble removing ticks around my cats’ eyelids. I didn’t want anything sharp or metal near their eyes.

I used to go to this hole-in-the-wall punk club in Atlanta in the late nineties but I looked like a little hippy kid. My friends had to tell me when it was time to leave since folks might think I was there as a joke in order to fight for fun. I mean, not the same thing at all, but still. Showed me how strongly punk culture has a sense of justice and identity, however spectrumed. Good folks. Strong ethics from my experience.
