Just my 2 cents: I dual boot Windows and Linux. I only start up Windows when I want to play a game, use Linux Mint for everything else. Some games run perfectly fine under Linux (I play a lot of Factorio for example. No Mans Sky I’ve had no issues etc.) but some are just a pain. For those I switch to Windows and then immediately switch back when I’m done playing.

It’s not ideal but this way Windows has next to no information about me at least. And as times goes on I’m seeing more and more games running just fine under Linux. Maybe one day I’ll be able to drop Windows completely.

You might not give a shit but the American elections are going to have a huge impact no matter where you live. It’s world news. And yeah there’s a lot of nonsense news about the US elections but there’s plenty of nonsense news elsewhere too. Why not start a lemmy community specifically about non-US news if you feel that’s lacking?

As for liberals causing problems, yeah maybe they go a bit too far some times and can be over sensitive. But the other side is literally trying to take us back to theocracy, where women only have the rights their husbands will allow them. They’re not even pretending otherwise any more. But as a result a bunch of scientists got more funding than they normally would for this project that gave great joy and some measure of independence to a young quadriplegic, maybe with more to follow.

The US can say what they want, Netanyahu knows going against Israel is political suicide. Whatever threat they make won’t have any teeth. He could care less what Biden or anyone else wants.

Behave like a civilized nation. Not collectively punishing an entire population for the actions of some. It’s incredible to have to explain that.

Obviously Israel can’t just exterminate the whole population. The world wouldn’t accept that. But making the region unliveable is a different story. They’ve been working on that for decades and this is the culmination of that plan.

If they were just hunting for"terrorists" they wouldn’t have to level entire blocks. Drive entire cities out of their homes.

I realize none of this will connect because Israel’s defenders will argue that for it’s security there’s no line it can’t cross. But for those of us on the sidelines the goal us pretty damn obvious. From “voluntary migration” to there’s “no such thing as a Palestinian people” (quotes from serving ministers) it’s pretty damning stuff.
