Get a degree in accounting. The last person to ever get the axe when jobs start getting cut are the accountants. It will be a boring job but the thing is, boring is good! Boring means your needs are met and you aren’t stressed out. Boredom is a first world problem. An easy, boring job that pays well is what I would tell my 27 y/o self to go for if I could. I’ve given my (now adult) kids this same advice FWIW.

She’s a Democrat representative in a historically Republican area. I know this because she’s the actual representative for where I live. She barely won and she understands that Trump voters are also her constituents.

An AR15 or AK is plenty good enough. And if you have the money you can also get basically whatever night/thermal vision equipment your wallet can handle. At least in the USA still. If your handgun doesn’t feel like enough (I agree that it’s not) then I suggest you get yourself a long gun (and lots of ammo) before you can’t anymore. Silver lining to all this bullshit is guns and ammo are as cheap as they’ve been in a long time. Unfortunately no one has any money…

Also you’re right about it being suicide. But that’s only if you’re alone. Open carrying during protests has historically actually been pretty effective at keeping the peace. That’s also how guns got/get banned though. The Black Panthers and Ronald Reagan for example.

The current administration wants to cut for timber, dig for minerals and metals, and in places where this isn’t possible or have been completed, build “Freedom Cities” where corporations rule like nation states. Free from regulation and oversite. Their whole plan is tremendously fucked for the common American.
