  • Yeah, pretty much. I have a friend in a state with very similar laws to Indiana. They had bought a DDM4 and was on the range with it later that day. There’s only 13 states that mandate a waiting period.

2A just short for second amendment rights, part of US constitution that prevents the government from broadly restricting firearms access.

Felonies are the “big” charges (murder, arson, drug trafficking etc.) That’s a scenario someone’s second amendment can be restricted. Misdemeanor charges are lesser (petty theft, speeding ticket) and not something that would cause a restriction during background checks.

Edit- to get into the American mindset, invert your understanding of how it “should” work. In most of the world people have to earn a weapon license and prove their responsibility with it, if firearms are even available to the general public. In America everyone can have a gun by default until they’ve committed a crime that causes restriction on an individual basis.

  • I have a kit very similar to this sunfounder picar I built a couple years back, maybe something like this? You’ll need a raspberry pi for it, but no soldering or anything like that is necessary.

It does support AI, though I’ve only used the OpenCV abstractions - it’s up to you how much you want to integrate. The motors and sensors are adequate, it has no problems moving under its own force. The included test tools use a web interface, you can build additional functions on those for “desktop” support. And it supports Python or Scratch but I’ve never personally tried the scratch side of things.

Edit - I found an article that goes into more detail around building and programming experience of this specific model.

  • Is there anything to imply the stock market actually gives a damn about external/macro cost pressures? Its like all fundamentals are out the window. At this point the companies are comfortable cranking their prices to offset any incurred costs at a moment notice, customers are used to seeing it. They’ll roll their eyes, bitch a little, and buy the product anyway.

I have to think there will be a tipping point when people straight up can’t afford things, but right now there doesn’t seem to be a tangible ceiling.

  • Nah, most brands have customers that treat their car like an appliance. They aren’t interested in a shared culture around their car. Jeep specifically cultivated that culture through “its a jeep thing” advertising, and it’s since taken on life of its own. Some other ones I’ve seen though

VW owners will throw up peace signs to other owners. Especially popular with Beetle drivers.

Mini cooper owners act like golden retrievers and start flashing their lights and wiggling the car when they see each other.

Subaru WRX/STI owners leave each other little bottles of vape juice
