Um, no. Ross Scott, the organizer of this whole thing, said that it will most likely fail. Meaning that there’s still a chance of success, not that he’s completely given up. The deadline for the European Citizens Initiative is 31st July, more than a month from now.

    Also, fuck Pirate Software.

They’re not getting half a million signatures in less than a week a man. I want to see this succeed but we again, there’s clearly a need to move on to the next initiative/strategy.

I do think grant funding and support from a few big dogs would go a long way to create more pressure on companies to participate at least initially. I don’t know if there is enough political will anywhere to legislate this problem away.

If there is that will, then maybe it needs to start with one or two nations. The whole EU is a tall order

That makes a twofold deadline for the Stop Killing Games initiative. Or, at least, one headed up by Scott: The UK petition, which ends July 14, and the EU Citizens’ Initiative, which ends July 3.

          Source

I’m only showing this because that’s what I was going off of. The petitions themselves have different dates. You are likely correct, but just felt it behooved me to at least show where I got those dates from

I think it’s also important to point out that the UK government has responded saying they are not amending anything so the number is irrelevant at least for that one.
