So I recently got back together with my boyfriend after cheating and taking a break.

I went to reddtit to look for advice and all of the post on this subject asoneafterinfidelity, support for waywards and more had either explicit rules you had to use gender neutral language or for some reason the culture insisted on it.

But like why ? I am a woman getting back together wit ha man and I just think that the situation is not the same. Women can get pregnant so there is the possibility of an affair pregnancy, STDs work differently for men and women social and emotional standards are different.

I feel like this makes things worst for everyone but why ?

Full disclosure I don’t even have a reddit account I am using this site because I could not cope with the karma system and I kept getting shadow banned.

So what is this ?

  • i have no interest in relationship discussion communities but speaking as a privacy supporter, using gender neutral language can have the benefit of:

    • disguising the poster against misogyny and other gender-based trolling.
    • if an argument erupts, it can also make participants more difficult to dox or stalk in other communities.
