I feel you. I live in a country that was at the wrong (red) side of iron curtain for 40 years… Crossing border to the west was punishable by death. Why? When commies were always praising the regime like the best thing ever created, like it’s basically paradise on earth (yet you often couldn’t buy basic stuff like toilet paper and queues were everywhere for everything), why shoot someone who wants to go to worse place?
