Early before 7am, a juvenile Buffy Fish Owl flew down to the edge of the water, and its reflection stole the show. Those piercing yellow eyes, mirrored perfectly in the still water below, almost felt like two owls staring right back at me.
Still growing into those striking markings, this young hunter was perfectly still, scanning the water for its next meal. Moments like this are exactly why I keep coming back to this wetland gem.

A deal so good even the bird is shoked :O
She spotted another darn Peeping Tom with a camera! She’s a classy owl and doesn’t go in for that sort of thing.
Yay! More BFOs!
I think I got one more left in the reserves. They’re starting to fizzle out for the season. Buffy and Barnie have been the crowd pleasers these last few weeks.
