The mouse buttons have been double clicking for a while and the wheel started to becoming sticky.
I finally took it apart and cleaned it as best as I could. It was mostly dust and some cat hair that wrapped itself around the wheel.
I couldn’t really get to the click mechanism but I got in between the button and the plastic. Not sure yet if it helped.

This is a really good idea it’s constantly annoying but you never get round to it. Well done for breaking the cycle
It was very simple too. Four screws, two things to unplug and that’s it.
