The sixth beta for Haiku R1 comes just about a week after Haiku’s 25th anniversary. We’ve come a long way since the project began a quarter-century ago in 2001. Thank you to everyone who’s supported us thus far, and here’s to another 25 years of Haiku!
This release contains almost two years of the development team’s hard work to improve Haiku’s features and overall stability, and to make more software available for use. Over 530 bugs and enhancement tickets have been resolved for this release.
Using Haiku as a virtualization host is genuinely exciting. I expect that would absolutely scream.
Anyone get it on hardware?
Finally. I played with it some 2 days ago, and despite promoting Beta 5 as latest, that repo was already removed and I couldn’t even update it.
lol
Yep I just did a fresh install myself seeing as I couldn’t update it from the repos.
I just changed
r1beta5tor1beta6in the repo manager, which worked.
I don’t know how wrong that was though. If you’re not having crashes Etc? Probably not at all. I didn’t even really think of that. Though I don’t actually keep any data on the laptop. It’s an old 2 gigahertz core two Duo . With a spinning rust hard drive. I use it mostly As a home assistant dashboard and interface.
