It was sticking and not refilling correctly possibly due to some buildup. A bit of vinegar to clear out any buildup and a finger full of grease and it’s bobbing like a dream.

I replaced one of these two days ago. It was very easy, the hardest part was totally draining the cistern. It wasn’t actually difficult it was just tedious. The guy at the hardware store (a plumber) recommended replacing the supply line as well but I didn’t have the info with me to get the right size /shrug
Yeah, they make these pretty damn easy to just pop in new ones for issues like this… Mine got super stuck for some reason and I literally had to hacksaw it off, but it did eventually come out.
Hopefully that’s a rare thing and I swear the last contractor might’ve used some sort of glue just to be a dick. Could be mineralization or something but it was SUPER stuck.
