And pillage most foul and heinous it is!
They tore down the fencing I had guarding it. The 8mm Mauser is beginning to sound like a viable solution come fall.
Why is this NSFW?
Gore.
Did you not see the carnage? Some people aren’t as strong of disposition on an early Sunday morning and deserve the warning.
At first I thought it was cause they were growing weed in the background but those just look like tomatoes
Those are indeed hot peppers and tomatoes.
Should it be NSFB then? Cause dem hot peppers can be dangerous and may be offensive to some toilets.
Maybe. I want to dry those chilies when they fully ripen and then grind them to make a few spice blends this fall. You gotta control the heat.
Condolences!
What brand of raised bed is that?
I can’t remember. I bought the metal walls from Menard’s, if you are familiar with that name. And then gave the kids at our local school a cut list and all the materials to make the stands as a woodshop project. Me and Grandma are getting old, and it’s a lot easier to stand and “farm” than it is to get down on the ground these days.
Here I thought you were growing a garden in your side by side and I thought that was the most redneck thing I’ve even seen.
Now I wanna do that!
I maybe should have. I could at least put it in the garage at night…
One has to defend their garden and their walls. May I suggest mines(predator piss) and snipers(cats)
The deer here have little fear of humans or dogs. And cats, well, they are useless. I have 3 dogs that pee and crap all over the yard, and that does not bother them. I do know my 8mm rifle will bother them…
Did you try bigger cats?
But for me the easiest anti deer solution was an automatic night light at daytime they stayed away and the sudden light scared them away
We have a couple of bigger cats in the area. They are called cougars, and NOT the kind you find in a bar…We even got wolves. Heck, I found a wolf kill about a half mile from my house this winter again.
The automatic solar light trick did work for a while. But they do learn, and now they just ignore it. About the surest way to get them to be less of a problem is to thin them out by eating them.
I did put my fence back up, but I’m going to need to think of something stronger.
Hey, might as well, and eat the deer too. If you don’t want to I’m sure some other local hunter would like the opportunity, given permission!
Oh, don’t worry, I will get to eat them beets even if they get turned into venison first. If there is one thing I am, it’s petty and vindictive about my beets.
Party popper, booby traps…like trip wire style. Motion detector, garden hose sprayer…
I like explosives…
Claymores in the trees, its the only proper solution…
I use a suppressed 10/22, doesn’t bother the neighbors like a Mauser (which I also have)
EDIT:
If its deer I have a suppressed 700 for that work.
I could do that, I do have a small machine shop that could do that kind of work. But I’m not willing to ruin a pristine Yugoslav 24/49 Mauser with a shiny new Yugoslav barrel. My nearest neighbor is a mile away in the middle of a forest. He ain’t going to notice much…
Who is “they”?
“They” is deer, of course.
