It happened on two Pixels here too. Data Saver is off on both and both are on WiFi.
After fresh install on WiFi thumbs load. Then turning off WiFi (even briefly), close-reopen app, thumns gone. Data saver is off. Then turning WiFi back on doesn’t make thumbs reappear.
.87 worked as expected yesterday. I even tried enabling/disablin Data Saver. Then this morning the thumbnails are gone again. Data Saver disabled, on WiFi, with all Jerboa settings at default.
I know the workaround but I’m chiming in cause the default behaviour for others might be unexpected.

You can go into the jerboa settings to force it thumbnails I described above.
There’s also a new release today that drops the metered network check from the data-saver.
Yup, that setting worked. I’ll retest fresh .87 install to see if the default behaviour has changed. Thanks!
