No individual effort can be meaningful as long as there are corpos with the desire to see the line go up on the other side. You can’t “vote with your dollar” if the choices you presented with are controlled by profit seeking, you can’t “do your small part” if you don’t have neither means nor understanding of what even needs to be done.
