OK, but it’s not like this is new. The difference here is that people that thought they were safe financially, aren’t anymore. Shit tons of people were just getting by before. It’s going to be important to remember how this feels if we ever make it out of this. I really hope this spreads empathy and understanding if nothing else.
I don’t know. People keep talking about what to do when we “make it out of this” like the whole situation was thrust upon us by nature, and we just have to wait and tough it out until it passes, like a storm. People made this happen. The people with wealth and power in our society chose this reality for the rest of us. They aren’t just going to stop one day. And they aren’t acting like this is a storm that will pass. They are acting like this is the next step in a transition they want and intend. We have to figure out how to instigate a change from this path, and I don’t know how to do that.
I think opportunities will present themselves because fascists are paranoid backstabbing idiots who can’t avoid objectively fucking things up, so our primary concern right now should be just surviving and being in a place to do something with opportunities when they come along
I did say “if”. But I do think once the orange fuck dies it’ll help. It should fracture a lot of sub groups and cause splits. Thats not to say that will end it, but whatever, and I hate to use this word, charisma he has will will be gone and he won’t be the figurehead anymore. Yeah the conspiracy nuts will feast and blame and point and yell false flag and grifters will continue, but maybe that will drive a deep enough wedge in the whole mass of them that there will be a way out.
In the meantime, act hyperrlocal, protect your neighbors and family, post corn memes, and watch for opportunities to help in a greater way.
It’s an A plus economy! If you’re a Robber Barron.
Just one plus? Those are rookie numbers. Last I heard it had 5
I heard it was doubleplusgood.
Because shortages of essential items like food have never caused unrest before.
But Trump said everything is GREATLY. UGH
More than a quarter — 27 percent — said they had skipped medical appointments sometime in the last two years because of costs, and another 23 percent said they had skipped purchasing prescription drugs for the same reason.
Those are the ones not too shamed to admit it.
Rent went up 11% last year and 60% this year. I’m looking for a nice bridge.
Fake news!
Pedonald and his family and his cronies are doing GREAT.
