The levels of disinformation coming out of Russia and China are very different than in the west. In the west, governments tend to try and justify their atrocities, not hide the fact that they ever happened. Even when Western governments do try to deny that something happened, it never seems to work very well. Either journalists get a hold of it, or an opposing faction takes control and releases the information.
Americans who are ignorant of American atrocities have actively chosen ignorance. That’s not true in China or Russia, and it’s definitely not true in North Korea. There is certainly a movement to try and make America that way though.

Read more theory!
I just tell them that the only reason they aren’t raging capitalists is that they haven’t read enough Milton Friedman or Adam Smith. Read more theory! Not that way! (No, I’m not a believer in the Chicago School of economics.)
Veni, Vidi, Versace
Also, at the societal level, the high lethality of the virus makes it far less likely to be able to spread broadly.

I don’t disagree on the current state. However, it’s not hard to foresee that attack tools will be developed that can maintain “attention” on an attack for days or weeks at a time with privately run agents. I’m sure they are out there already to some degree.

Cyber security in general is going to get interesting. Breaking into protected systems often requires more patience than expertise. Attackers often get detected when they take short cuts because of laziness and overconfidence. AI agents have unfathomable patience and attention to detail.l

The network effect is a pretty significant barrier. If a game comes out and it isn’t on Steam, the odds are pretty good that most gamers would never bother looking at it. It’s hardly Steam’s fault that the only attempts at competition for decades have been enshitified from launch though.

Why on earth would they not want death to the west? It’s not like we haven’t deserved it. Israel is way more extreme than either Hamas or Hezbollah. That’s what happens when you create an ethnostate, arm them to the teeth, and back them unconditionally for generations.

No country lasts generations in a static form. That’s not a thing.

I’m not sure if you are being sarcastic, but democracy and capitalism are fundamentally incompatible. “Equal capitalism” is an oxymoron.

If you were ever in such a situation, I’m sure your lawyer would present the fact that you always have a first aid kit with you to challenge it’s relevance. People who know you could be brought in to testify as such.
On the other hand, if you don’t generally carry a first aid kit but brought one to the protest alongside the other listed items, it does seem indicative of intent.
There was just a news story that Denmark was (among other activities) stocking up on blood supplies in Greenland. That’s not an unusual thing for a military to do, but it’s pretty obvious that they were preparing to fight US forces. That’s obviously not a crime, but the logical connections to intent are similar.

If you give me ssh access to their server, then I can verify. Otherwise it’s “just trust me bro”.
What do you think an independent autit does?

They are explained in the post.

I do know our history, and in October 1962 the odds of nuclear war were less than the odds of a climate apocalypse today, because they weren’t 100%.
As bad as trump is, has he murdered 13 million innocent people yet?
Yet? No. But he is on course. The estimated number of deaths from his illegal USAID cuts is actually 14 million by 2030. That’s one policy. I expect that number will be dwarfed by the long term impacts of his environmental policy. Then we have the pending excitement in Iran to worry about. A nation of 93 million people can throw at least a few million more lives on the pyre before all is done.

Nuclear was was always an apocalypse that might happen. Climate change is an apocalypse that is happening.
Hitler was bad, but he didn’t have anything like the arsenal and intelligence networks available to Trump. We have the consentration camps, and the death camps too, although those are outsourced in other countries.

It’s not really wrong though. This kind of legislation certainly makes me hostile.

Isn’t this what containers are supposed to provide? Docker seems better from both a security and usability point of view.

Secondary sanctions from a dino convention. Based.
If you are going to watch a game, Fifa would rather you pirate their game than someone else’s. It’s still free advertising when you discuss the game with friends or online.
