  • Yeah, parenthood is stressful. I have less personal time. A loooot less expendable income. But when I pick my 3 year old up from daycare, and she’s so excited to see me, you’d think she hadn’t seen me in days, my heart just melts. It’s so interesting to hear her take on things. The stories she makes up with her toys. Hear her describe what’s going on in her abstract scribbles.

She loves music. Michael Jackson, The Wallfowers, and Sam the Sham are surprise favorites at the moment. Aside from the soundtracks to Frozen and the Little Mermaid.

Seeing her get excited about things that we take for granted brings joy back into my life. Even something mundane like a Spirit plane coming in to land by the airport by us. She was so excited because it was yellow. Ford Fusions are “Shark Cars” and she always loves pointing them out. Putting stuff on the checkout conveyor at the grocery store. Turning on light switches. Riding Sandy ar Meijer.

Now, she’s getting into board and card games and it’s so cool to have family game nights. Primarily dominoes and Uno. I have a ton of weird vintage board games in the basement I cannot wait to bust out when she’s older.

I could go on and on about why I love being a dad. The day she was born, from the moment I held her, I knew that I would fully be capable of killing someone. As long as I am alive and capable, I will do everything in my power to keep anyone from harming her. She is everything to me.

  • My wife’s parents have a ton of antique furniture. They’ve given us some stuff, it is out in the garage now. They see our furniture, it is more modern. My mother in law has been pouty, “oh, I guess we need to sell all this before we die! You aren’t going to want any of this.” Thank you, yes. That is exactly what I want. I know that was supposed to be a guilt trip, but that is exactly what we want. Lol

  • Our Thanksgiving prime rib was over-done. We’ve been a bit slow lately, and so I’ve had to take more vacation time. Or, sit at my desk and do nothing. We don’t get as much free company apparel as my last job. There, we got Carhartts, Nike quarter zips, Weatherproof jackets, coolers… that was pretty nice.

Oh, and the main thing is the customers. I wish the program managers could do all the interacting with them so I would never have to talk to them.

  • Oh no, my PKCell!

Kent Survival is another relaxing, casual camping channel. Not quite like Steve.

Budget Builds kind of inspired me to fix up this Dell Precision 690 I rescued from the trash.

Polymatt’s video on LGR’s laptop was positively incredible. So good. So impressive.

Ever watch Brick Immortar? Mostly maritime tragedies, and much more dry than plainly difficult. But I kind of feel they are in the same sphere. I fall asleep to them sometimes.

Man, Usagi Electric’s homebrew project is insane.

I could go on and on. So few people I know are interested in this stuff.

Big Old Boats? Hyce? How about Atomic Shrimp? I’m interested in other channels we might share.
